Bronson is eight years older than Courtney, and he attended Louisville Country Day School before going to University of Louisville to study political science. He studied at Oxford University on a scholarship before attending Georgetown University School of Law, where he received a Juris Doctor and a L.L.M. in International and Comparative Law.

He practiced from 1983 to 2001 in Washington, D.C., where he focused his practice on criminal defense, family law, and immigration law. In the fall of 2001, Bronson moved home to Louisville to open Howell & Kidd Attorneys with his sister. Their mother Anne has served as their receptionist since the firm opened.

At Howell & Kidd, Bronson concentrates his practice on family law, immigration, Chapter 7 bankruptcy, and elder law. He serves on the Legal Aid Society’s pro bono clinics for divorce and immigration.

Bronson is happily married to Valerie Bock, enjoys international travel, and is very active in his church, where he participates in the monthly food pantry for humans and their pets and has served in various capacities on the Board.
